Russia’s Rosneft to produce 22 mln tns of oil at Vankor in 2016
VANKOR FIELD, Krasnoyarsk Region, Apr 8 (PRIME) -- Russian state-run oil major Rosneft plans to produce at least 22 million tonnes of oil and gas condensate at its Vankor field in 2016, keeping output flat on the year, Dmitry Filimonov, chief engineer and first deputy CEO for production at Rosneft’s unit RN-Vankor, told reporters Friday.
“Vankorneft’s production will remain flat on the year,” he said, adding that the production plateau of the field amounts to 22 million tonnes of oil.
In January, Rosneft reorganized its affiliate Vankorneft by spinning off part of its assets, which became RN-Vankor, a new entity that runs the development of the Vankor field. In September 2015, Rosneft signed a deal to sell 15% in Vankorneft to India’s ONGC. RN-Vankor will partially become the legal successor of Vankorneft.
The Vankor deposit is located in the Krasnoyarsk Region and its output amounts to over 60,000 tonnes of oil and gas condensate daily. Initial recoverable reserves of the field amounted to 476 million tonnes of oil and condensate and 173 billion cubic meters of gas as of the start of 2016.
